Advocacy

This is a key feature of the project. People have day to day challenges that must be addressed if they are going to have 'headspace' for taking on new approaches and ideas.
What is advocacy?

Advocacy is having a 'voice', being able to express your views, concerns and questions about anything that impacts on your life.

Independent advocacy is facilitating another person to express themselves. It includes:
- Helping them think through and articulate their concerns
- Providing information that assists decision-making
- Exploring the possible consequences and implications of any action a person takes
- Supporting a person to prepare for a meeting and plan their arguments
The advocate does not express their own point of view but is instructed by and speaks on behalf of the person they are supporting.
An advocate can also provide moral and emotional support to the person when they speak for themself.
